1.
The conductive film with a double-layer structure is similar to the single-layer structure conductive film. The difference is that in the double-layer structure, an additional spacer layer is added beneath Mylar.
Because the height of the fragments is generally greater than or equal to 0.24mm, the cross-shaped fragments such as those with a height of 8.4mm are usually around 0.50mm, while the common thickness of Mylar is 0.05mm and 0.075mm.
When such a single-layer structure product is attached to the circuit board, there will be a significant horizontal difference between the top of the spring clip and the circuit board, forming a bulge, which will affect the performance of the product. However, by adding this layer of partition plate, the horizontal difference between the two can be reduced, and the product will not form a noticeable bulge.
2.
The double-layer structure conductive film is superior to the single-layer structure, and its manufacturing process is mature. Moreover, the production cost is even lower than that of the single-layer structure.
For the general metal spring conductive film, without any special instructions, our company will manufacture it in this structure.
PET comes in two colors: transparent and white, which can be freely combined. Generally, Mylar is transparent, while the partition uses either transparent or white. This depends on the convenience of product fitting and whether there are requirements for shading, etc. Additionally, in a single-layer structure, the ventilation holes formed on the Mylar are replaced by ventilation slots on the partition.
3.
When the spring piece is pressed, the air beneath the spring piece can flow through the reserved holes and slots on the partition plate to other places, thereby providing better rebound (feel) and a longer service life for each spring piece. In addition, the double-layer structure conductive film partition plate can also prevent the burrs and sharp edges of the metal spring piece (spring/dome piece) from scratching the PET, and prevent dust from entering the gaps between the PET and the spring piece. The commonly used Mylar and Spacer materials for the double-layer structure spring piece conductive film are both PET with glue, so they are called "down-facing conductive films". Some products require Spacer (partition plate) without glue and instead attach a layer of glue on the Mylar. Such products are called "up-facing conductive films".

Characteristics of double-layer conductive film:
a. The product is lightweight and compact.
b. Excellent moisture-proof, heat-proof and cold-proof performance.
c. Due to the use of the partition, it is equivalent to providing a sealed dust-proof treatment for the fragments, while also preventing the oxidation of the fragments themselves.
d. The feel is excellent and it extends the product's service life.
e. Multiple colors can be selected for combination to meet the different requirements of the product for adhesion or shading.
