The cross shaped metal dome is a metal spring piece with a cross arm structure, which achieves multi-directional force balance and precise contact triggering through a four-way symmetrical design.
The double-layer structure of the Metal Dome conductive film is similar to that of a single-layer conductive film, with the key difference being that an additional spacer layer is added beneath the Mylar film in the double-layer structure. Additionally, ventilation slots are pre-cut into the spacer layer (in the single-layer structure, these slots are cut into the Mylar film). When the Metal Dome is pressed, air is expelled through the exhaust slots on the spacer layer, thereby providing better rebound (tactile feedback) for each Metal Dome.
Furthermore, the spacer layer of the double-layer conductive film prevents defects such as burrs or flash on the Metal Dome from scratching the PET, while also preventing dust from entering the gaps between the PET and the spring plate, ensuring a cleaner and more dust-resistant product. This product is referred to in English as a Double Layer Dome Array and is also commonly abbreviated as a double-layer Metal Dome sticker.
The conductive film of the double-layer Metal Dome typically uses transparent PET for the top layer (Mylar), while the spacer layer (Spacer) has two options: transparent and white. White is the standard choice. If the product is difficult to adhere or if the PCB or FPC needs to be visible after assembly, a transparent Spacer can be selected.
Double Dacker Structure Metal Dome Array Features:
a. The product is light and small.
b. It has excellent moisture-proof, heat-proof and cold-proof performance.
c. Due to the use of spacers, it is equivalent to sealing and dust-proofing the spring pieces, while also preventing the oxidation of the spring pieces themselves.
d. It has a very good hand feel and extends the product's service life.
e. Multiple color combinations can be selected to meet the different requirements of the product for bonding or shading
Uses of metal dome array
Metal dome arrays serve a wide range of applications and are extensively utilised across various industries.
